Ex-accounting executive avoids prison in Madoff fraud case

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A former associate of Bernard Madoff avoided prison on Thursday for his role in perpetuating the fraudster’s massive Ponzi scheme because of his extensive cooperation with prosecutors.
